About the Artist
Debi Gero is based in Santa Monica, California. Her art career began as a child, growing up in Troy, Ohio, but it was put on hold as she began her academic pursuits in the first grade, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. Below is a picture of Debi at about the time she put her art career on hold.
After a career in the financial services industry, she began her art studies in earnest in 1997. Debi’s artistic studies focused on landscape/cityscape painting as well as drawing and painting the human figure. Her works often combine elements of both, showing not only the “where” of plein air urban landscape painting but also how we interact with these spaces. If you feel that you want to be in the spaces that she has created or a small smile creeps across your face as you look at one of her paintings then she has achieved the goal of creating a space of light or a place of lightheartedness.
She has exhibited in Los Angeles and Italy.
